Moldova's pro-Western President Maia Sandu secured a second term, overcoming Russian-backed opponent Alexandr Stoianoglo, in an election fraught with allegations of interference and voter fraud.
In her victory speech, Sandu stated, "You have shown that nothing can stand in the way of the people's power when they choose to speak through their vote,” emphasizing the election's significance.
She claimed that the election faced unprecedented attacks, mentioning "dirty money, vote-buying, and electoral interference by hostile forces" as main concerns during the voting process.
Stoianoglo echoed the need for unity, stating, "everyone's voice deserves respect" and expressed hope to end the hatred and division imposed on the country.
