Lora Cusumano, a former child model and local volunteer, is committed to enhancing the beauty and safety of Glen Cove, her hometown. Recently appointed chair of the beautification commission, Lora has galvanized a community effort that began with a small group and has expanded to over 100 residents. Since 2018, she has focused on tackling issues like speeding and littering, embodying a lifelong ambition to help others. Her modeling early in life instilled a resilience and determination that she now channels into her community service.
"I want to make it more beautiful and safer," she said of the area.
"I saw that my neighborhood needed help and wanted to step in," the organizer said.
