The Massachusetts Institute of Technology issued a shelter-in-place warning for part of campus Thursday evening, advising students to stay away from the area while police searched for a man seen in a university building.
Somerville police stated that a 47-year-old white man was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants, and the descriptions provided match both the University alert and police images.
