Briefly

Ohio State celebrated their national championship victory with 30,000 fans despite changes within their program, including the likely departure of defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Penn State. Head coach Ryan Day praised Knowles as the leader of the top defense in the nation. With 13 of the starting 22 players from the playoffs out of eligibility and others eyeing the NFL, the team faces a transition. It took everybody to become national champions, and today we say thank you, said Day to the crowd.
Ohio State was the first to win the inaugural four-team playoff a decade ago and became the first to win the 12-team version.
