"In case you find yourself in a situation where detention is imminent, you push the alert button, and that sends a signal to the nearest consulate," said Secretary de la Fuente. This app aims to give immediate assistance and support to Mexican nationals during detention by ICE.
"[Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum] has also instructed us to focus on direct community engagement, which we have already begun," de la Fuente explained, emphasizing the importance of assuring citizens that they will receive support and assistance.
