"I gave everything I had, the mistake from yesterday gave me extra concentration, extra power, extra energy, said Marc Marquez. I was just there following him, trying to push him, always super close, because I say it's impossible to do 27 laps without any mistake, and in the end he did a small mistake. Super important for Ducati. I felt the pressure this weekend that for them it was super important to win both the Italian GPs, in Mugello and here."

Marc Marquez won the San Marino Grand Prix, extending his championship lead to 182 points over his brother Alex with six race weekends remaining. The result puts Marquez on course to draw level with Valentino Rossi at the Japan MotoGP later this month. Marquez started fourth, overtook Fabio Quartararo and Alex Marquez at the start, trailed Marco Bezzecchi, and seized the lead on lap 12 after Bezzecchi ran wide. The victory was Marquez's 99th across MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 and his 11th win of the season, complementing 14 sprint victories. Francesco Bagnaia crashed out, allowing Bezzecchi to move closer to third in the standings. Ducati secured both Italian GP wins this weekend.
