A serious incident occurred at The Royal Canal Way, Ashtown Gate, Dublin 15, resulting in a man being taken to hospitals for critical care. He was initially brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition remains serious. Gardaí report no other injuries have been recorded, and a technical examination of the incident area has been conducted. Gardaí are urging witnesses, especially pedestrians and road users with camera footage, to come forward with information regarding the incident.
The serious incident took place on The Royal Canal Way, Ashtown Gate, Dublin 15 and the man was then taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin where he remains in a serious condition.
Gardaí have added that no other injuries have been reported. A technical examination of the area has also since taken place.
A Garda spokesperson has appealed for witnesses to this incident to come forward, adding: 'In particular, investigating Gardaí are appealing to pedestrians on The Royal Canal Way between the M50 Aqueduct and Ashtown Rail Station to contact them.'
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ashtown area between 4:45pm and 5:15pm are asked to make this footage available.
