Man found dead near Bray playground had suffered stab injuries, schools in the area remain closed this morning

The man was found unresponsive and with serious injuries shortly after 6pm, treated at the scene, but pronounced deceased a short time later.

Gardaí are investigating whether the victim was involved in an altercation at the playground, which has faced issues with anti-social incidents in recent months.

Local Green Party councillor Erika Doyle stated, 'It is a great tragedy when anybody loses their life,' urging calm while the investigation proceeds.

All entrances to the area were sealed off by gardaí for a forensic examination by the garda technical bureau, with a forensic tent erected at the scene.
