He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but was pronounced deceased a short time later. A Green Party councillor for Bray East, Erika Doyle, paid tribute to the man and said it's 'a great tragedy when anybody loses their life'. She expressed concern for witnesses and emphasized the need for calm as investigations unfold, stating, 'I would ask people to stay calm and just let the gardaí do their job at this point, they need to investigate and they're the people that we should be looking to for correct and factual information.'
