"The incident took place around 6.30pm in the Cappaghmore estate in Clondalkin on Friday, December 5. The man was struck by a vehicle before a number of men then exited the vehicle, and continued to assault him with weapons. He was brought to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Gardaí from Lucan and Ronanstown garda stations, assisted by the armed support units, carried out a number of searches on the morning of Wednesday, December 17."
"Weapons and electronic devices were seized during the course of these searches. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them. Any persons who were in the Cappaghmore estate/Ninth Lock Road area of Clondalkin between 6pm and 7pm on the evening of Friday, December 5 and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí."
