Lythcott-Haims under fire for questioning whether disparaging comment about Jewish congregation was hate speech

"This council and the listening public have had to sit through many hate-filled public comments, antisemitic comments, especially from this speaker meeting after meeting... I personally find it disgusting." - Mayor Greer Stone.

"Every single person on there - vile Zionists," said Aram James, referring to the entire Jewish congregation and attacking Mayor Lauing's perceived privilege.

Lythcott-Haims apologized on January 13 and stated she misinterpreted the comment made by Aram James at the City Council meeting.

Don Barr mentioned at a recent meeting, "Apparently there was hate speech at the City Council meeting," highlighting the seriousness of the incident.
