Luas services affected as fire breaks out at Dublin city centre's IFSC

A fire broke out on Mayor Street Lower, near George's Dock and the IFSC building. Emergency services, including Gardaí and the Dublin Fire Brigade, responded with three fire engines. Firefighters are using 70mm hoses to control the fire and protect nearby structures. Gas Networks Ireland has also been requested to the scene. Due to the incident, Luas red line services have been suspended between Busáras and The Point, affecting passenger travel. Luas tickets are accepted on Dublin Bus during this disruption, with apologies for any inconvenience.
"Three fire engines along with senior officers are on scene at a fire at George's Dock near the IFSC," Dublin Fire Brigade said in a post on X.
"Firefighters are using 70mm hoses to control the fire and cool adjacent exposures. We've requested Gas Networks Ireland to the location."
"Passengers, please be advised Red Line services are currently only operating from Tallaght/Saggart to Connolly. There is currently no service from Busaras to The Point," a spokesperson said.
"This is due to a non Luas related incident. Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of this service disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
