LPGA says its players must be female at birth or transition before puberty

Players must be assigned female at birth or transitioned before male puberty to compete in LPGA events, highlighting a significant policy change effective 2025.

The LPGA and USGA's new policies are designed to be inclusive of gender identities while aiming for equity in competitive conditions, tackling controversial aspects of gender in sports.

Davidson expressed frustration on social media, stating, 'Banned from the Epson and the LPGA. All the silence and people wanting to stay neutral thank you for absolutely nothing.'

LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan stated, 'Our policy is reflective of an extensive, science-based and inclusive approach to competition and gender identity in sports.'
