Dan Horrocks, diagnosed with multiple brain tumours since 2011, has exhausted treatment options in the UK. Following several surgeries and therapies, he raised £50,000 to explore groundbreaking therapies at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. His journey reflects resilience, as he hopes for personalized treatments based on genetic testing. Together with his wife Sonia, they strive for a breakthrough that could potentially offer new life-saving solutions not available through the NHS.
I'm utterly bowled over and delighted with the amount of support and generosity we've received. I'm so shocked and overwhelmed with how quickly the money has come in.
That felt a bit like the end of a road and I've always tried to avoid that. The NHS staff have all been amazing - they said they can do surgeries but not much else more.
