Liverpool FC has included 16-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha in their Champions League knockout phase squad, a record for the youngest addition to their roster. Ngumoha, who left Chelsea's youth academy to join Liverpool, impressed during his FA Cup debut, making him the club's youngest player in the tournament's history. He replaces Tom Hill, following a January transfer. Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot, praised Ngumoha's skills and bravery after seeing his performance in training and during matches, indicating this young talent is set for a significant role in the team's future.
Every time when he comes training with us we see what his qualities are. He can dominate one-v-one situations, he is very quick on his feet, he can change directions really fast.
I'm always happy if a player makes his debut that he shows what we see on the training ground. I think the fans liked what they saw.
