Joey Hart participated in Dana White's Contender Series, gaining valuable experience despite feeling he didn't perform to his expectations, especially regarding his goal to achieve knockouts. He expressed that the mental state during the fight's decision was mixed, as he felt he lacked urgency in earlier rounds. With LFA 200 approaching, he aims to apply lessons learned, focusing on being more aggressive to secure victories and contracts. Although he received positive feedback, Hart remains driven to evolve by addressing his self-imposed standards and the importance of seizing opportunities in fights.
It was a great experience. It was a lot of fun, first of all. But as far as where I was at mentally when they were reading it, I felt like I didn't do enough.
In my mind, my job was to go in there and knock him out. And when the final bell rang and he was still standing, it was like, well, I screwed up.
If I had done just a little bit more, I think in round two. Every judge gave me round three. If I just got one more judge to give me round two, that's the fight.
Urgency is the number one easy takeaway.
