Carsley confirmed he has not applied for the permanent England manager role, expressing satisfaction with his current position as Under-21 manager, which he considers a privilege.
Carsley expressed, "I've said all along, it's one of the best jobs in world football, [...] the coach that comes in has got a really good chance of winning."
He clarified that his comment about being "hopeful" to return to the Under-21s was not indicative of his desire for the senior position.
Carsley indicated, "I was asked to take the senior team which is a privilege, it was the proudest moment of my career so far."
