Kosovo bars Serb party from vote over anti-independence stances
Briefly

The central election commission of Kosovo denied the request from Srpska Lista, the leading ethnic Serb party, to participate in the February elections, citing statements against Kosovo's statehood as the main reason.
According to Sami Kurteshi, a member of the verification body, Srpska Lista's election platform never mentions the Republic of Kosovo, instead using the term 'Kosovo and Metohija', which undermines Kosovo's status.
Election officials indicated that Srpska Lista has strong ties with Serbian authorities who do not acknowledge Kosovo's independence, raising concerns about the party's allegiance.
The decision poses a significant challenge for the Serb minority in Kosovo, which relies on the reserved legislative seats, and may result in further tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
