Kingston Council is taking steps to support vulnerable pensioners with winter fuel payments after the government cut payments for those not eligible for Pension Credit.
The council is identifying households earning just above the Pension Credit threshold, offering one-time payments of up to £300 from the Household Support Fund.
Cllr Sabah Hamed emphasizes the importance of supporting the elderly, stating, 'It's really important we step in to support the elderly and most vulnerable in our community.'
