Prince William and Kate Middleton will miss the 2025 BAFTA Awards as it coincides with their children’s half-term school break. William, the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, will participate via a video package and is also scheduled to promote emerging film talent at the London Screen Academy. The couple has been regular attendees at the BAFTAs but missed several recent ceremonies for various reasons, including health challenges faced by Middleton, who recently announced she is in remission after undergoing chemotherapy.
William, who has been president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, will appear in a video package as part of the awards.
It falls on the first weekend of the half-term school holidays, which is why the couple isn’t attending the BAFTAs, according to royal editor Kate Mansey.
After undergoing chemo, the mom of three announced last month that she's in remission, marking a significant point in her health journey.
Last year at the BAFTAs, William walked the red carpet alone while Middleton was recovering from surgery and hadn't confirmed her cancer diagnosis.
