Chase Bank is suing four customers for nearly $662,000 allegedly withdrawn through a TikTok scheme that took advantage of a temporary check clearance glitch.
The fraudulent method involved customers writing checks to themselves, withdrawing money before the checks bounced, leading to overdrafts.
Chase has demanded the return of the illegally accessed funds along with legal fees, emphasizing fraud's impact on trust within the banking industry.
Drew Pusateri stated, 'Fraud is a crime that impacts everyone and undermines trust in the banking system,' highlighting accountability efforts.
