"Harris shared the story of her emotional wedding-day tribute Sept. 10 in an Instagram video that began with footage of her telling her grandmother over a 2016 video call that Pasutto, a former pro snowboarder, had just popped the question on Christmas Day. "Now do you want to be pushed down the aisle in your wheelchair or do you want to take your walker down the aisle?" Harris asks. "Which aisle?" her grandmother responds. "The wedding aisle," Harris tells her as her grandmother covers her mouth and cries."
"The video then flashes forward to show Harris in her wedding dress last month, flashing the small urn to the camera. She later takes the urn out again and places it on a table as the couple, who share son Leo, 9, and daughter Annie, 6, dines with their guests. Later, at their reception, her cousins raise a toast to "Granny," Harris' "bridesmaid up in heaven." The video goes on to show Harris on the dance floor where she takes the urn from the top of her party dress and gives it a kiss. Harris captioned the clip, "No way was I walking down the aisle without her.""
Jillian Harris planned for her grandmother to be her maid of honor in 2016. Her grandmother died in 2019, before the couple's original wedding date, and the nuptials were postponed because of the COVID pandemic. When Harris and Justin Pasutto married in August 2025, Harris carried her grandmother's ashes in a small white urn tucked inside her wedding dress to include her in the ceremony. Harris shared an Instagram video on Sept. 10 that juxtaposed a 2016 video call with wedding-day footage, showing emotional moments, a reception toast to "Granny," and Harris kissing the urn on the dance floor. Fans responded with emotional comments praising the tribute.
