Ireland's forgotten hip-hop pioneers Marxman: 'We should have been on the lash much more - we would've sounded more like Kneecap'

Hollis Michael Byrne recalls, "And we were banned for our troubles by the BBC, basically. In the early 90s, Marxman made waves with their socially conscious rap, long before others were recognized."

Marxman paved the way for politically engaged hip-hop, showcasing the issues of their time. The group used music as a platform to voice social and political injustices faced by the Irish community.
