Garda sources believe a medical emergency may have occurred, but a post-mortem will determine the direction of any investigation. The Health and Safety Authority and the local coroner were notified and HSA investigators began inquiries. Coral Leisure closed the facility, noted pool difficulties, and offered condolences to the family.
