Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, but Was Turned Down by Sony
Briefly

Insomniac Games, known for iconic games like Marvel's Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank, pitched Resistance 4 to Sony, but it was rejected. Founder Ted Price revealed that many team members were passionate about expanding the Resistance story, which features a rich alternate history with the Chimera. Despite the pitch, the timing wasn't right for such a project. Price expressed a desire to see the Resistance narrative continue, but confirmed there are currently no ongoing plans, while also hinting at potential future opportunities, given Insomniac's connection to Sony.
We did pitch that one, and it was a wonderful concept. And in terms of timing and market opportunity, it didn't work out.
Resistance has set up a really cool alternate history base where anything can happen with the Chimera and where they go and what their origins are.
We love the fan response... There's no answer to that, but I will say we pitched Resistance 4 and it was cool.
Fortunately, because we're part of Sony, and Sony owns the franchise, there’s always a potential for the future.
