Murlidhar Mohol emphasized that the spate of hoaxes, primarily propagated through social media, has led to severe repercussions, including forced diversions of flights and substantial financial burdens.
According to Osprey Flight Solutions, despite the alarm these threats generate, there is currently no evidence of actual threats detected at any airports or aboard aircraft, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
The diversion of flights due to bomb threats has created considerable financial strain. For instance, the diversion of an Air India flight to New Delhi incurred costs exceeding $354,500.
