Illegal cigarettes 'hidden in photocopier' at convenience shop
Briefly

Officers uncovered 7,540 illicit cigarettes and more than half a kilogram of rolling tobacco hidden in a photocopier and small cupboard during a visit last September.
Ian Tucker, a Trading Standards officer, expressed concern that AAA Convenience's continued operation would undermine licensing objectives, stating it was unconscionable for the shop to keep its premises licence.
Despite a strong case against the shop, the committee ultimately agreed not to revoke Ramachandran's licence, instead imposing 20 conditions aimed at regulating its operations.
Yusif Alhani, representing the store owner, argued that revoking the license would lead to the shop's inevitable closure and cause irreparable damage to the business.
