After upgrading to the latest MacOS, my Intel-based MacBook Pro became nearly unusable due to app slowdowns and battery issues, prompting me to install Linux.
My surprise was how well Ubuntu ran on the machine. I'd go so far as to say it performs as well as MacOS on my M1 machine.
