Three family members were killed in a frenzied knife attack in the Drumgowna area near Tallanstown, Co Louth. Parents Mark and Louise O'Connor, both in their 50s, and their son Evan, in his 20s, were the victims. A man was arrested about 1km from the scene after locals encountered him. A local reported the suspect saying he was "just walking along the road, not running." The suspect also told a local, "I'm sorry for all the screaming and shouting. It's over now." Police are conducting an investigation.
