Hundreds more homes at huge dockside regeneration approved
Briefly

Newham Council has approved plans for a major new housing development in Silvertown, which will deliver 326 homes, designed by Gort Scott Architects, with construction starting in autumn. This scheme is part of a larger regeneration effort aiming to transform a 60-acre site that has been largely unused for 40 years. The initiative not only aims to provide affordable housing but also to create economic opportunities by introducing shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities, while preserving historical landmarks like the Millennium Mills building. Construction is set to create over 1,300 jobs annually.
The development will also create jobs and introduce shops, restaurants, bars and a dockside leisure hub.
A six-storey building with 106 'affordable' homes is already under construction, with the first residents expected to move in by the end of the year.
