Every UK household must legally possess a TV licence to watch or record live TV, regardless of the channel. Starting April, the cost will increase to £174.50.
You could be eligible for a refund on your TV licence if you do not watch or record live TV and do not stream BBC iPlayer.
Refunds typically process within 21 days but may be delayed if further information is required. You must have one unused month left on your licence to qualify.
You will not require a TV Licence for streaming services like Netflix, or watching shows on demand through platforms like Amazon Prime Video.
