In fact, AAA says that 2 million more people will travel 50 miles or more away from home in 2024 than in 2019, before the pandemic.
Stacey Barber, vice president of AAA Travel Services, said in a statement, 'Thanksgiving is the busiest holiday for travel, and this year we're expecting to set new records across the board, from driving to flying and cruising.'
A whopping 71.7 million people are expected to take a road trip this Thanksgiving, according to AAA, which is 1.3 million more people traveling by car than in 2023.
With a record number of travelers expected to be on the road, drivers should follow traffic apps and local news alerts.
