A grassroots movement against Elon Musk's controversial government policies is intensifying, inspiring protests at Tesla dealerships nationwide. Activists, led by disinformation researcher Joan Donovan and filmmaker Alex Winter, aim to raise awareness about Musk’s perceived lack of transparency and accountability concerning federal government data. Initiated after small protests in Maine sparked conversation, more extensive demonstrations are planned for February 15 in cities across the U.S. Despite ongoing court challenges, citizens are actively seeking to hold Musk accountable as frustration grows over his government initiatives.
As citizens, we have different points of leverage. One is talking to our representatives, but another is publicly calling attention to the ransacking of the federal government's data.
I was inspired by a little protest in Maine, where people had brought some signs to a Tesla charging station, and how that had brought about some conversation and allowed people to meet each other.
