Houston LGBTQ+ business group had to relocate event because of Trump DEI order
Briefly

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce was compelled to change the venue for its THRIVE Small Business Summit & Matchmaker event on short notice because the Federal Reserve Bank of Houston rescinded its permission to host due to an executive order from Trump limiting DEI initiatives. The Hilton Garden Inn stepped in to host the event successfully with over 130 attendees. Tammi Wallace, cofounder of the chamber, noted the swift response of the new venue and reflected on the surprise experienced by attendees regarding the changes.
"As I'm sure you're aware, a number of executive orders have been implemented by the new presidential administration that pertain to the work of federal agencies".
"They really stepped up in short order," Wallace tells The Advocate.
"It was great," Wallace says, adding, "The attendees were just caught off guard ... but so great."
