Hop aboard this vintage NYC subway train for the holidays - and ride back in time
Briefly

The annual Holiday Nostalgia Rides revive a vintage subway experience in New York City, offering straphangers a charming journey back in time every Sunday in December.
Concetta Bencivenga shared, 'It’s just magic, and this is just an added element where it’s something that’s a little bit different to do, but we only do it at this time of the year.'
The vintage R-1/9 train, which ran from the 1930s until 1977, features nostalgic attributes like rattan seats and incandescent light bulbs that nostalgically transport riders back through the history of New York's transit.
For 20 years, the New York Transit Museum has succeeded in running these nostalgic rides, underscoring the importance of celebrating the city’s rich transit history, interrupted only twice during the pandemic.
