Hold that bus! Queens riders to get more bus service, better rail connections if MTA approves redesign plan
Briefly

MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber stated, "Queens is underserved by subway and commuter rail based on population, and we need to connect people to the rail system much better."
The MTA's redesign plan for local bus routes aims to provide a more efficient network with increased frequency and better connections to the rail systems.
A highlight of the bus redesign is the implementation of 20 routes with expanded hours focusing on key corridors like Merrick Boulevard and Union Turnpike.
With the proposed plan, Queens will see a double-digit percentage increase in the number of bus routes, expanding the count to 124 routes.
