This year's Golden Globes had an eccentric list of film winners, delivering an experience akin to Cannes, but with better hygiene. The ceremony remains largely unremarkable, yet it outshone last year's predictable display.
Nikki Glaser, the new host, brought humor and energy right away, cleverly highlighting contemporary cultural topics and managing to connect disparate names in a very funny way.
