"Highline is thrilled to welcome the 906 Technologies internet customers and outside plant and construction employees to our family. Our commitment is to match and exceed the exceptional internet experience established by 906 Technologies in Marquette County," Bruce Moore, Highline's President and General Manager of Midwest markets, said in the announcement.
"The company is financing the 823-mile fiber project through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) program. It represents 14% of Highline's RDOF location commitment. It must be completed by the end of 2027."
"Last June, it said that it was in the process of making fiber broadband available to about 1,200 residents in Watersmeet Township. Many were serviceable when the announcement was made."
"In September, 2023, Highline said that it completed construction of an area known as 'The Thumb' area of Michigan. The company said that it is offering broadband to more than 8,000 households in Lapeer, Sanilac, St. Clair, and Tuscola counties."
