An increased budget of almost €5 million was provided to Irish embassies and consulates abroad this year for promotional events and outreach. The funding supports promotional activities and outreach efforts conducted by diplomatic missions overseas. More than €790,000 of the allocation was assigned to diplomatic missions in the United States. The Irish embassy in Washington DC received €225,000. The allocations represent targeted financial support for embassies and consulates to carry out promotional events and outreach programmes internationally during the current budget period.
