Harlow's council is undergoing a significant restructuring of its senior management to enhance its effectiveness and vision. Led by Councillor Dan Swords, the council aims to change lives and reinvigorate Harlow as a vibrant local authority. A recruitment campaign attracted over 200 candidates, ultimately leading to the selection of four key executives: James Gardner, Alan Townshend, Julie Ellis, and Giles Clarke, each bringing extensive experience from both public and private sectors to drive the council's agenda forward, focusing on housing, corporate transformation, and community regeneration.
Councillor Swords said: "I want Harlow to be the most transformative and impactful local authority in the country."
The appointments panel conducted rigorous final interviews last week and unanimously selected the following individuals.
