Hagerty argued that the allegations against Hegseth, which were never tried, should not distract from his potential to lead and inspire significant change in the military.
Discussing the military's recent focus, Hagerty stated, "The Pentagon has been more focused on pronouns than they have lethality in the past four years, we need to get back to business."
Highlighting Hegseth's influence, Hagerty shared, "I talked with him earlier this week. He told me... I was thinking about getting out... now that you've come to lead us, I'm going to stay in."
