Baerbock warned that Russian support from China could severely impact bilateral relations, stating, "Drones from Chinese factories and North Korean troops attacking peace in the center of Europe violate our core European security interests."
During her meeting, Baerbock stressed the importance of fair competition in trade, saying, "A level playing field, fair competition and reciprocal market conditions are essential," while addressing EV tariffs.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticized EU tariffs on Chinese EVs, stating, "the EU's imposition of high anti-subsidy tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles violates the principles of fair competition and free trade."
Baerbock urged China to "engage constructively" in discussions about both trade and the ongoing situation with Russia's war in Ukraine, highlighting her dual-focus approach.
