"The regional parliament building for the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein was sprayed with pro-Palestinian graffiti overnight on Tuesday. Around 15 messages such as "Free Gaza" and "From the river to the sea" were sprayed on the building in the state capital of Kiel, according to police, as well as "Free Greta" a reference to the activist Greta Thunberg, who was taken into custody by Israeli authorities last week."

Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned of a new wave of antisemitism. Foreign Minister Wadephul described the date as a "day of darkness" for Israel while also acknowledging Palestinian suffering. In Kiel, the Schleswig-Holstein regional parliament building was sprayed with around 15 pro-Palestinian graffiti messages such as "Free Gaza" and "From the river to the sea," plus a reference to Greta Thunberg. State parliament speaker Kristina Herbst condemned vandalism and called for democratic dialogue rather than slogans on public walls.
