Rebecca Morgan from the Royal Mint stated, 'The works of George Orwell have influenced generations, and his most famous works are still being studied today decades on from their first publication.'
The coin’s edge inscription reads: 'THERE WAS TRUTH AND THERE WAS UNTRUTH,' reflecting a major theme from Orwell's writings about reality and authority.
From January 20, visitors to The Royal Mint Experience can strike their own collectible George Orwell 2 coin, enhancing engagement with literature and numismatics.
