"This is the first time in the history of the force that such a tactic has been used on such a large scale in an attempt to identify suspects," a source said.
"While 100 more people are yet to be identified at this stage, it would be unrealistic to believe that all of these suspects will end up being arrested," the source said.
"The work that the gardaí viewing the CCTV are doing is time-intensive and laborious," the source added, acknowledging the challenges in the investigation.
As of now, a total of 57 arrests have been made for serious public disorder, with 51 individuals facing charges and some sent to trial for more severe crimes.
