Several embassies, including those of Belgium, Kenya, Uganda, and the US, were targeted by demonstrators. Protests reflect the anger of citizens displaced by ongoing fighting in eastern DRC, pressing the international community to intervene against Rwanda's actions in the conflict. Barrot reassured that measures are being taken to protect diplomatic staff and citizens, as security forces attempt to counter the insurgents who threaten Goma's stability.
These attacks are unacceptable. Everything is being done to ensure the safety of our personnel and our citizens.
We denounce the hypocrisy of the international community. They must tell Rwanda to stop this adventure.
