Former bank teller from Saugus stole more than $180K from TD Bank customers, prosecutors say
Briefly

Derek Aut, 28, was arrested Wednesday and charged with embezzling over $180,000 from TD Bank customers, allegedly using their money to fund his gambling habits.
Prosecutors accuse Aut of making 46 withdrawals totaling $156,000 from a 52-year-old woman's account, and $10,700 from a 99-year-old woman, attempting to cover his tracks.
TD Bank stated, "We notified law enforcement and cooperated fully with their investigation," after discovering Aut's thefts prompted by customer complaints.
Investigators revealed Aut visited Encore casino 31 times during the thefts, spending more than $100,000, leading to suspicions he financed gambling with stolen funds.
