Flying taxi maker Lillium lays off 1,000 workers and ceases operations
Briefly

Lilium, which was once seen as a leader in the flying taxi space, has now ceased operations, laying off 1,000 workers after failing to secure additional financing.
Co-founder Patrick Nathen announced the stop of operations on LinkedIn, citing they can no longer pursue their vision for greener aviation under Lilium.
Despite proving its VTOL air taxis could reach speeds over 100 kilometers per hour, Lilium struggled financially and was unable to realize its ambitious goals.
With a small number of employees remaining, the company is focusing on the liquidation process, while the future of its technology and assets remains uncertain.
