The US Coast Guard initiated a search for five individuals after a fishing boat, the Wind Walker, capsized in challenging weather conditions near Juneau, Alaska.
The Wind Walker crew issued a mayday call, indicating that the vessel was overturning around 12:10 AM. The Coast Guard's follow-up attempts were met with no response.
In harsh weather, including 60 mph winds and 6-foot seas, search and rescue teams are battling significant challenges to locate the missing crew members.
Seven immersion suits and two strobe lights were located in the search area, but the Coast Guard could not quickly verify the number of people onboard.
