Fianna Fail TD Robert Troy 'contravened' ethics laws over property declarations, watchdog finds
Briefly

The Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo) has now released a report which probed his declarations and whether he intentionally failed to declare interests properly.
The commission also found that because ethics laws were contravened several times, this pattern of errors is a "serious matter" and of "significant public importance".
Sipo found Mr. Troy failed to declare properties at Main Street, Ballinacargy, Cathedral View, Mary Street, and Rathdown Road, indicating a lack of understanding of declaratory obligations.
While an individual error, once corrected promptly, may not in itself be a serious matter, the Commission finds that this pattern of omissions or errors in successive declarations was a serious matter.
